Special 50th Anniversary Edition

This book commemorates the 50th anniversary of the earthquake in 1976 by relating the experiences of some of the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who were serving in Guatemala at that time.

It also includes a special tribute to Pablo Choc, Patzicía branch president, and his son Daniel Choc, who was the first missionary from Patzicía and the Church’s first Cakchiquel missionary.

At 3:03:33am on February 4, 1976, an earthquake hit Guatemala. 23,000-25,000 people died, 80,000 were injured, 250,000 homes were destroyed, and nearly 1.5 million inhabitants were left without shelter.
